how to use Hotel Canary
If you are totally risk averse - this is NOT the method for you. The purchase is nonrefundable. I've never known Hotel Canary to be wrong, but it might be. You have to be okay with getting a different hotel.
To find onsite Disney hotels as a blind deal.
Open Chrome. This only works on a computer and only works on Chrome.
Click the three dots at the top right (under the X to close).
Hover over More Tools and then click Extensions.
Click Extensions on the top left side.
Click open Web Store on the bottom.
Search for and add Hotel Canary.
Go to priceline.com and click Search Now under the Have you tried Express Deals ad.
Enter Lake Buena Vista, FL and your dates. Then click search.
On the left toolbar, check the boxes for Walt Disney World - Disney Springs and Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek.
Make a note of how many reviews the listing has and what number rating it has.
Click Choose next to the option you are interested in.
Click Book. (Ignore any hotel suggestions on this page.)
Click the Hotel Canary icon (looks like a rock, but I think it's supposed to be a bell that would be on a hotel check in counter).
Then hover over where it says 3.5 Star Hotel (or whatever star level you picked).
The possible matches will pop up in the right corner of your screen.
If there is more than one match, compare the rating and number of reviews to narrow down your choice.
Again, this is not a guarantee. I haven't known it to be wrong, but there is a chance it could be.

Monetizing my life
I realized, every aspect of my life is monetized, almost. I've included my referral codes, if any appeal to you.
I get up and take my phone off the charger. As soon as I turn off the alarm, I collect the GIFTLOOP ( http://app.giftloop.co/r/MRM3MXM ) coins it has spent the night accumulating. I also have to open it past the SMORES (K1B5KA) lock screen, which gets me points as well.
During Morning Quality Time with The Cats, I check into SAMSUNG HEALTH and let it know I am awake and what I will be eating for breakfast. The scratch card apps, a review and assessment
So, Nicky, have you won the lottery yet with your scratch cards?
Not yet. But I keep at it. I no longer expect instant riches. But I am accruing points that will become real money.

Average daily earnings: 1100-1200
at 3750 to make $1, it takes 3 days for a buck, but about 10 days to even get on the board here. A month gets you about $10 to Burger King or Dunkin Donuts. $100 is about a year's earnings, just on the cards. There are other ways to earn.
Game play:
A six box scratch card to match 3 symbols, and a bonus box.
They run an ad before and after each card. Most annoying. At least they have mostly pared them to 5-15 seconds instead of the full minute.
This requires a twice daily check in to maximize earnings. Monday-Friday starting at noon central, there are the Lunch Break cards.After 8 PM central are the Late Night cards. (fireworks, sleep over, movie night, etc)

Early update, because the pleasures of a miser are my own
Because I need to reassure myself that I am indeed getting back underway
Gabriel came through surgery fine. He has some discomfort, but he's healing well. Dentures in August. This is exciting. I plan to take him for steak for his birthday. He hasn't had steak for years.
But even though I spavined every account I had, I am not completely broke and I keep at it. (had some real GiftLoop success this last week) And I keep mystery shopping, which helps.

Revising our goals.
So, last night, we had a serious money talk.
Since we're using all the vacation funding on surgery, and with Olivia's wedding, we've had to push our date back. Also there is church stuff and Festival of Souls and all sorts of commitments in the fall
We're planning for May 1-8, 2021.
This gives me 5 more months to raise money.
Gabriel won't be working the 20-21 school year as he finishes his degree. And it may be my last chance at a vacation with him before he lights out for the Pacific Northwest.
So I'm starting to look at options (using May 2020)
Gabriel wants to do Blizzard Beach, which is about 75 more dollars.

Spent all week being someone else
It was a very productive week in Nick and Gabriel land.
I found out about Crisis Role Playing. This is where you go be a disaster victim for the National Guard.

You go through moulage (makeup) and are given an injury. The coordinators explain the scenario and you come up with ideas of how to be your injured self. You have a tag listing your injury, pain level, mood, and your vitals (blood pressure, pulse, capillary refill)
I was a Nonambulatory Open Fracture (my ambulation is iffy at good times), and had a very good latex appliance of a compound fracture of the tibia.

He also went to the dentist and we now know it will take 2200 to get his teeth pulled and dentures made. We have about $800 in cash right and the money coming in from the roleplay will help.
But all the vacation savings--except gift cards--are going to this. It's a setback, but not a huge one.

It took seven of them to move me from decontam board to gurney and I screamed a lot because of the broken leg. I was calm and helpful unless they messed with the leg.
It was easy money. And a lot of fun. I made a couple new friends and caught up with people I don't see enough of.
The second fun thing was a drag debut.
If you know me, you know I'm queer. There's no other word that fits. I'm genderfluid and polyamorous and kinky and generally strange and unusual.
On Friday, I took the stage at Dru's Place for Open Stage. Drag performers make tips. (I got $3)

I decided to be a witch and know things: KO Trivia and Lucky Draw
I play KO Trivia and Lucky Draw Trivia.
The points get pooled in the same pot, and I just broke 1,000,000 (yes, one million points. 1.2mill is $100)
I love it. It's a slow earner but a steady one. And I cashed out $1 so they do pay as they say they do.
Basically, you select a tournament to enter. Other people may join you, anywhere from 1 to several hundred. The computer asks a question, with three answers below. A favorite is to show the shape of a country, filled in with its flag, and ask which country this is, or which country listed is nearest to or farthest from it.
The tournament pot is split between players. a 50 coin tournament will get the first place 26 coins and second 10, and the rest whatever is left.
There are, as you advance up, chests you can unlock. Wood chests are free and can be opened every 2 hours. They may have up to 500 coins. (I've gotten as many as 195). Silver chests cost 100, can be opened every 4 hours and give you up to 2000. Gold chests are 700, every 8 hours and can get you 10000. Platinum chests cost 7000, can open once a day, and can get you up to 100,000.
Yesterday a platinum paid off for 82,000.
On the Lucky Draw, you earn tickets for a drawing. There are weekly drawings for 2million, million coin drawings 2-3 times a week and one month 5mill drawing. These are worth entering.
If you like your trivia, and are patient, these are a steady paying item.

Disney Gift Cards at 28% off and with no money out of pocket? How?
Our first, but not our last.
In yesterday's post, I mentioned I had cashed out some swagbucks, enough for a $25 prepaid Visa. That was 2150 instead of the usual 2500. (You can do this once a month)
Then I went to BestBuy.com and activated my 2% swagbucks back (50 bucks/cents). And the best buy rewards (1% or 25c). Then I ordered.
